Testimonials

Some people say it's all about who you know in this business. And that statement couldn't be more true if you know Randy Tatano. After being connected with Randy through a good friend of mine, I started to see what it took to get to the next level. In only a couple of months, Randy helped me to improve my writing, my delivery, my confidence and the skills I had as a rookie reporter in my first job. And with Randy's guidance I walked away from that job with a resume tape to be proud of. Not knowing where I was going to land my second gig, I trusted in the work I had done and the advice Randy also gave me. Amazingly, I landed a job in my hometown of Denver, Colorado. I went from a market 104 to a market 18!! Randy really takes the time to work with you. He is someone that truly takes pride in being a journalist and in telling a good story. I've learned more from Randy than anyone I've ever been mentored by. So, if there is anyone you want to know in this business, it's him!

"Randy rocks! From day-to-day issues to major career decisions, Randy Tatano offers useful suggestions and a friendly ear.  His critiques improved my storytelling and on-camera presentation.  Within a few months of working with Randy, I had my choice of agents and my choice of major market positions.  Ultimately, I jumped from market #60 to market #9. I would highly recommend televisionnewscoach.com to any television journalist looking for a new perspective on his or her career.  Considering the company's competitive rates, you simply can't go wrong."

If you don't hire Randy Tatano as your television coach... you are setting yourself up for failure in the business.   Randy provides you with all the feedback that you need to reach your goal.  He will evaluate your tape, paper resume, cover letter, references etc but it doesn't end there.  He will then provide you with interview tips, what to look for in a contract and so much more.  With Randy's vast television experience his knowledge in these areas is invaluable.  The thing that impresses me most about Randy is that he is readily available to answer your questions via email or phone.  And he does this all with patience and a personable personality.  By far, the best money that I ever spent was hiring Randy.

"As a college intern, I had no idea what television news was about until Randy Tatano took the time to teach me. He showed me the basics of editing and the art of writing. He taught me how to tell a story in a clever, unique way that captures the attention of news directors. When it came time for me to produce my first resume tape, Randy's help was invaluable. His instruction (and incredible patience) led to my first and second TV jobs. His connections in the TV business and his own experience helped me land several jobs. I consider myself lucky that he took the time to help me; I couldn't have made it this far without him!"

"It was with Randy Tatano's encouragement and advice that led me to my successful career in television. I was very fortunate to find a mentor that was patient and kind, who knew the value of a story and had the smarts to tell it. Learning under his wing was one of my most valuable career builders."

"If you are just starting out in TV, or if you've been in the business for years,  Randy has something to offer you. In the beginning of my career he taught me how to be much more than a reporter.  He taught me valuable story telling skills and techniques that I still use today. He's also an honest and truthful friend and coach.  He never tells you what you want to hear, he tells you the truth,  and he does it in a very kind way.  You will never feel like you are being ripped apart by Randy, but you will feel as if you improve dramatically every time you work with him. Throughout the years he has been a trusted confidant. He has been instrumental in moving me to bigger and better markets."

"Everyone always told me to get your first job in television you have to be persistent, really know what you want, and be patient. When I started looking for jobs, and sending out an endless amount of resume tapes, I couldn't help wondering if what I was putting out there was actually any good. Every candidate is looking for honest, unbiased feedback, that could really make a difference in how quickly and where they get their jobs. What I learned from Randy is that having knowledgeable people who have been in the industry for years and know what news directors are looking for on your side is priceless. The comments and suggestions he gave me after looking at my tape were invaluable, and helped me land the job that I have now.
This is a business that thrives on connections. Making this connection is by far the best thing I did to help my career and I would recommend it to anyone who is seriously considering a career in television."
